The mission of the education and outreach programs at The Scripps Research Institute is to develop the next generation of researchers and advance bioscience education and awareness throughout the country. This is accomplished by promoting science education nationally and locally by raising undergraduate and high school students' awareness of career opportunities in the biomedical and chemical sciences, providing middle and high school teachers with cutting-edge professional development, and fostering an understanding in the general public of the basic ties that exist between biomedical research and human health. From internships to workshops, both campuses offer exciting programs aimed to generate excitement about the power and potential of biomedical research.
