Non-Academic Careers

Finding Non-Academic Positions   |   Preparing Your Application Materials   |   Interviews   |   Negotiation

Non-academic positions include those from any number of sectors, such as industry, government, education, law, or management consulting.  The application processes for these positions can vary greatly, but often involve only a cover letter and a resume.  Occasionally, quite extensive online applications or additional application materials are involved.

The Career and Postdoctoral Services Office offers one-on-one advising appointments and workshops, such as Careers in Industry: From Job Ad to Interview, to help prepare trainees for the non-academic job search and application. Visit the Career Training Programs page for more information and upcoming events.
