Financial assistance in the form of an interest-free loan is available to help defray costs associated with pursuing and obtaining a Ph.D. degree from Scripps Research.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• The maximum loan amount is $10,000.
• The repayment term is up to 60 months (or prior to graduating if applicable) at a 0% interest rate.
• The loan period begins from the date of disbursement.
• Students must possess the ability to repay the loan while they are enrolled as there is no deferment period.
• Students cannot have more than $10,000 outstanding balance at any point in time, and may only request five loans during their academic career.
• Loan approval is dependent on fund availability, successful academic progress, and explanation of need.

TO APPLY
To apply for a loan, complete the short application form.

Once you submit the application to the office in person or email, the Office of Graduate Studies will review your information and contact you within five business days.

If approved for a loan, you will be notified by the office and advised of next steps regarding your promissory note and loan disbursement.
