Educational Outreach Involvement

Graduate Students pursuing their doctoral degree at Scripps Research's Skaggs Graduate School of Chemical and Biological Sciences have many opportunities to make a positive impact on younger students and aspiring scientists by participating in the institute's educational outreach programs.

Indeed, the volunteer efforts of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty and staff are what make Scripps Research's educational outreach programs possible. In turn, volunteers develop invaluable communication, mentoring and critical thinking skills through the process of sharing their knowledge, skills, and passion for scientific discovery.

Included below is a list of programs on both campuses that rely on the time, creativity and enthusiasm of Scripps Research graduate students and others to educate and inspire aspiring young scientists. Graduate students are encouraged to volunteer for programs they find meaningful.

The list below is not comprehensive and new programs are often created, while some existing programs occasionally go on hiatus for a period of time while being updated and improved.
