TSRI Office of Technology Development (OTD) Internship Program This 9-month internship is for Scripps trainees "who wish to learn more about intellectual property and technology commercialization...Interns will participate in a formal training series covering the basics of technology transfer, conduct market assessments and direct marketing efforts for select technologies and gain exposure to ongoing negotiations between OTD and industry partners."
AAAS Mass Media Science & Engineering Fellows Program "This 10-week summer program places science, engineering, and mathematics students at media organizations nationwide. Fellows use their academic training as they research, write, and report today’s headlines, sharpening their abilities to communicate complex scientific issues to the public."
AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowship 12-month fellowship that "helps to establish and nurture critical links between federal decision-makers and scientific professionals by placing scientists in federal agencies and Congressional offices to support public policy." Candidates must hold a doctoral degree.
Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy Fellows Program Fellows "assist the agency in identifying possible breakthrough energy technologies through technical and economic analyses. During their two-year tenure, ARPA-E Fellows influence the direction of American energy innovation, engaging with world-class researchers in academia and industry, entrepreneurs, and government officials."
American Chemical Society Science Policy Fellowship A one to two year opportunity, where the fellow "works with experienced OPA staff to provide information to policy-makers on the role of science in public policy, advance specific recommendations on issues affecting the chemical enterprise, and inform and involve ACS members in the policy process."
British Science Association Media Fellows Fellowship provides "a unique opportunity for practicing scientists, clinicians, and engineers to spend two to six weeks working at the heart of a media outlet such as the Guardian, BBC Breakfast, or the Londonist."
California Science & Technology Fellowship Professional scientists and engineers are placed in the California State Legislature for one-year appointments. "These professional development opportunities will enable fellows to work hands on with policy-makers to develop solutions to complex scientific and technical issues facing California through their interaction with the legislative process. The fellowships are ideal for qualified applicants who are interested in improving the interface between science and legislative decision-making and who want to learn the public policy decision-making process."
Data Science Fellowship - The Data Incubator An "advanced 8-week fellowship for PhDs looking to enter industry. A variety of innovative companies partner with The Data Incubator for their hiring and training needs, including LinkedIn, Genentech, Capital One, Pfizer, and many others. The program is free for admitted Fellows." Can participate in New York City, Washington DC, San Francisco, or online.
Data Science for Social Good - University of Chicago A summer program "to train aspiring data scientists to work on data mining, machine learning, big data, and data science projects with social impact. Working closely with governments and nonprofits, fellows take on real-world problems in education, health, energy, public safety, transportation, economic development, international development, and more."
Genentech Internships & Co-ops 9-12 weeks, usually in the summer time. Each internship posting will list the preferred degree, major and skills for the internship. Interns "will contribute daily to important projects and work side-by-side with biotech industry experts in a flexible and diverse work environment."
GlaxoSmithKline Internships & Co-ops 10-12 weeks, usually May through August, program "designed to recruit and hire top quality students to feed the talent pipeline for GSK. These opportunities are available across business units, at multiple GSK sites around the country." Roles are available in many disciples including science, engineering, business, IT, and more.
Global Health Corps Fellow Yearlong paid fellowship "for young professionals from diverse backgrounds to work on the frontlines of the fight for global health equity" at existing health organizations and government agencies.
Google Public Policy Fellowship 10-week, summer-time, program where fellows work "at public interest organizations at the forefront of debates on broadband and access policy, content regulation, copyright and creativity, consumer privacy, open government, government surveillance, data security, data innovation, free expression and more."
Hellman Fellowship in Science & Technology Policy One-year program provides an opportunity for an early-career professional with training in science or engineering to learn about a career in public policy and administration. While in residence, Hellman Fellows work with senior scientists and policy experts on critical national and international policy issues related to science, engineering, and technology.
Insight Health Data Science Fellowship Program A "seven-week postdoctoral training fellowship that bridges the gap between academic research and a career in health data science."
Intel Internship Program "See Intel from the inside and decide if Intel is the place for you to launch your career."
Intel PhD Fellowship Program "Program awards fellowships to PhD candidates doing work in fields related to Intel's business and research interests. These fellowships, available only at select U.S. universities, include tuition, a stipend, a travel grant, and an introduction to an Intel mentor."
Keck Graduate Institute Summer Intensive Program A week-long course offered by The American Society for Cell Biology and Keck Graduate Institute. "The course will introduce PhD scientists to the competencies they need to thrive in industry and will expose them to the culture and infrastructure of life sciences companies through MBA-style case-based teaching, professional development workshops, and a team-based project."
Leopold Leadership Program This two-week program features training sessions to enhance communications skills. Fellows participate in training "to gain the skills, approaches, and theoretical frameworks for translating their knowledge to action and for catalyzing change to address the world’s most pressing environmental and sustainability challenges."
Lilly Innovation Fellowship Award Program The program "pairs a post-doctoral scientist with their academic mentor and a Lilly scientist, who serves as an industry mentor, to advance an innovative research proposal developed by the fellow. The goal of the LIFA program is to focus on research topics or "Grand Challenges" that will drive innovation in scientific areas of greatest strategic interest to Eli Lilly and Company, while remaining general enough to foster disruptive innovation."
NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellowships Early-career and more senior scientists have the opportunity to work on one- to three-year assignments with NASA scientists and engineers. Opportunities relate to missions in Earth science, heliophysics, planetary science, astrophysics, space bioscience, aeronautics, engineering, human exploration and space operations, astrobiology, and science management.
NIH Department of Bioethics Fellowships Two-year post-doctoral and pre-doctoral (post-baccalaureate) fellowships. Fellows have the "opportunity to learn many aspects of bioethics, as well as support to develop and implement an independent scholarship agenda, with guidance from faculty mentors. Fellows participate in the activities and the intellectual life of the department, and study ethical issues related to conduct of research, clinical practice, genetics, and health policy."
NYU Moore-Sloan Data Science Fellowship The fellowship is based within the NYU Center for Data Science. Fellows are appointed initially for two years and are expected to lead independent and original research programs "with impact in one or more scientific domains (natural science or social science) and in one or more methodological domains (computer science, statistics, and applied mathematics)."
ORISE Fellowship Program - Centers for Disease Control Participants in this "Research Participation Program" will focus on public health issues related to the environment. Candidates will join projects associated with developing and applying new methods to characterize and quantitate biochemical markers that are relevant in environmental exposures and chronic diseases. 
Presidential Management Fellows Program This is a two-year, leadership development program for advanced degree candidates interested in "a career in the analysis and management of public policies and programs."
The Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program Provides early career individuals with the opportunity to spend 12 weeks at the National Academies in Washington, DC "learning about science and technology policy and the role that scientists and engineers play in advising the nation."
The Visiting Scientist Fellowship - Eli Lilly & Company A one-year, postgraduate program that introduces participants to various medical, marketing, and regulatory aspects of the pharmaceutical industry. It is designed to train professionals for a career in the pharmaceutical industry by allowing them “hands-on” experience with the drug development process. Fellows are assigned to one department yet have continuous contact with other functional areas.
The Scientist Virtual Writing Internship This full-time, fully paid, 4-month long internship program is an opportunity for writers with a strong science background to get into science journalism. Interns will work from home, and "will cover breaking news..., produce a variety of articles for the print magazine, manage The Scientist’s social media presence, scan the literature for upcoming studies of interest, and proofread magazine articles."
