Laura Solt, PhD

Associate Dean of Graduate Studies

Laura Solt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Immunology and Microbiology at the Wertheim UF Scripps Institute in Jupiter, Florida. She received her B.A. from Boston College and her Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Pennsylvania. After completing her postdoctoral research at Scripps Research, she started her independent laboratory at the Scripps Florida campus in 2013. In 2023 she became associate dean of graduate studies.

Solt's research aims to understand the biologically relevant roles of nuclear receptors, a superfamily of ligand regulated transcription factors, in the immune system. The Solt Lab uses a combination of molecular biology, genetic, and chemical biology approaches coupled with mouse models of autoimmunity and chronic inflammation to study how different nuclear receptors’ expression, function, and activity affects disease.
