Favorite Aspects of Graduate Studies: "My experience as a Scripps grad student has been extremely rewarding - I can't quite put into words how transformative my four years in the program were. With the encouragement and guidance from my advisor Luke Wiseman and support from Wiseman lab members, I've gained the courage and capability to embark on my own journey in the scientific community. In so many ways, Scripps just put me in the right place at the right time with the right people, and it was and continues to be a pleasure to be true colleagues with leaders in fields of biology, chemistry and beyond.

One of my favorite things about working at Scripps was being with people from all around the world every single day. The sheer variety of perspective was so enriching and made for constant off-the-wall humor and fun."
Next Steps: "Since defending my thesis in 2020, I started a new role as an industry research scientist at Protego Biopharma. I hope that in the future, I'm able to manage and train other scientists and scientific staff in industry and hopefully somewhere down the line I can return to the academic world by instructing community college students here in my home town of San Diego."

Be sure to join us at 10 a.m. PDT on Friday, May 21 for our Virtual Commencement Ceremony!
