Summer Undergraduate Research Programs
Scripps Research invites applications from college undergraduates who are pursuing studies in the chemical and biological sciences and are interested in performing cutting-edge research in one of our state-of-the-art laboratories.
Our ten-week summer undergraduate programs are held on our La Jolla, California campus and offer students the opportunity to experience research with and be mentored by our world-renowned faculty. All participants receive a $6,250 stipend and housing is provided on a nearby university campus. A similar program is offered on UF Scripps Biomedical Research’s Jupiter, Florida campus.
Students wishing to be considered for a Scripps Research summer program can apply to either of the two programs below with a single application.
- Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows (SURF) Program
- NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program
